Ancora Imparo: The Key to Knowledge and Improvement

Posted by Mark Guida on April 8, 2011 09:33 AM

Back to SchoolIn order to differentiate yourself from the competition, you must engage in life-long learning.  Even if you are currently at the top of your game and leaving your competitors in the dust, you won’t be for long.  Every day new technologies, products, and ideas are reshaping the way we do business and interact with each other.  Just think about the fact that you are reading a blog post on the internet that only five years ago could have been only a random emailed message with no real target audience.  If you go back ten years, you would be throwing a postcard in the trash without even giving it a second look.  To say that stagnation and complacency are dangerous is an understatement.

Ancora Imparo : “I am still learning” – Michelangelo

The key to constant improvement is engaging yourself in anything and everything you can get a hold of that interest you personally and on a business level.  Whether you are: reading books, blogs, white papers, or random news articles; enrolling in seminars or continuing education classes; or quietly listening to the person next to you on the train talk about life; you are bettering yourself.

Here at Knotts, we offer the opportunity for our customers and prospective customers to join others in hands-on training courses for variety of product lines.  These seminars are typically free of charge and offer the opportunity to purchase the training materials at steeply discounted rates.  The most recent class was an Introduction to Omron PLC Programming.  Led by Omron’s leading Applications Engineer, 10 engineers from 9 companies learned firsthand how to install, wire, and program an Omron micro PLC.  Questions were bountiful and answers were complete.  Everyone came away with greater knowledge of how PLC technology can be easy to use and effectively implemented.
