Challenge:
A printer needed to extend a part with very little rotation in a tight space for a labeling application, to make sure the label was straight. The current process is causing the labels to be applied at all different angles, making them hard to read.
Solution:
Bimba solved this problem by including a spline within an original line cylinder to keep it from rotating. The design achieved a rotational tolerance of ±1/2°, which saved the customer from having to use a bulkier, more expensive alternative. It also provided space savings compared to an alternative thruster-type solution they were originally considering. By applying labels correctly the first time and not having to fix errors, productivity was greatly increased.
Benefits:
- ±1/2° of rotational tolerance
- Saves space compared to alternative solutions
- Increased productivity by eliminating errors
Other Applications:
- Stamping
- Labeling
- Filling/Dispensing
