Challenge:

A printer needed to extend a part with very little rotation in a tight space for a labeling application, to make sure the label was straight. The current process is causing the labels to be applied at all different angles, making them hard to read.

Bimba Printing blog2.pngSolution:

Bimba solved this problem by including a spline within an original line cylinder to keep it from rotating. The design achieved a rotational tolerance of ±1/2°, which saved the customer from having to use a bulkier, more expensive alternative. It also provided space savings compared to an alternative thruster-type solution they were originally considering. By applying labels correctly the first time and not having to fix errors, productivity was greatly increased.

Bimba Printing blog3.pngBenefits:

  •  ±1/2° of rotational tolerance
  • Saves space compared to alternative solutions
  •  Increased productivity by eliminating errors

Other Applications:

  • Stamping
  • Labeling
  • Filling/Dispensing
